FCBD: Elite Comics in Overland Park

Saturday, May 2 from 10:00 – 3:00

11842 Quivira Rd
Overland Park, KS 66210

I’m normally at Elite Comics in Overland Park, Kansas for Free Comic Book Day, although last year I just sort of squatted with the gang for a bit. This year I’ll try to sit for a few hours and chitchat. Owner William Binderup really does FCBD well, and it’s worth your time to stop in.

This year it looks like I’ll be there with Alex Grecian, Chris Grine, Kevin Mellon and Dennis Hopeless.

FX in the rearview mirror

Swiping some pics from the FX Show that other people have posted other places. Pictures swiped from Jess (FindMew) and Kris Archibald’s Facebook pages:

Leaning on Haun with Latour in the center. Lorenzo from Lawrence on the left. Dave Johnson’s finger on display.

Hanging out at the Drink N Draw with Ron Salas, Word Balloon’s John Siuntres, Hickman, Haun and Peck.

On a Friday afternoon panel with old pals Ivan Brandon and Seth Peck. Mainly we talked about vikings.

At some sports bar late on Saturday night, with Ben Templesmith, Jonathan Hickman, Latour and Andy McDonald. I’m fairly positive I almost got stabbed in the bathroom that night.

Giving Hickman and Ben my opinion just before last call.

Vinyl Orlando

Back from Orlando and the FX Show late last night. I might give a recap of the show, but for now…here’s my contribution to the charity vinyl art jam thing they did: “The Auto-Erotic Asphyxiation of Seth Peck, Lonely Heart.”

Now that’s art, you bastard.

And here’s Jeremy’s Jason Vorhees:

Orlando…and the FX Show

So check it out:

Landed in Orlando today with Haun and Peck. Nice dinner with them fellas, Latour and Francesco Francavilla and Mrs. F. Taking it easy tonight (and, really…what else is there to do in Orlando?) before the show tomorrow.

Got the new CASEY BLUE trade, and both volumes of HAWAIIAN DICK, BATTLE HYMN and THE LEADING MAN at the table, along with single issues of ’76 and the new DICK (as well as a few copies of my DC stuff). Plus some previews for upcoming projects.

Come by. I’ll cut you a deal and hug you all up. Also, the dude who used to host In Search Of will be there.
